Trinity Hall, California Lutheran University
Trinity Hall is the first residence hall at California Lutheran University to have classrooms, six bedroom suites, and studio apartments. The 16.5 million dollar, 83,000 square foot building is the second largest facility on campus. In addition to installing blinds in all of the residing units, Window Products Management installed two large motorized shades in the tall glass openings in the entryway.
Scaffolding was used to get the installation team and two oversized roller tubes to the top of the two raked windows. The motorized shades reduce glare into the laboratory classroom while still allowing usable light for students to work, in addition to improving the thermal efficiency of the building. All of the automated shades are controlled via wireless remote from the classrooms.
